They understand almost nothing. The epidemic is exponential. But SIC "it is still too early to declare a USPPI" [ public health emergency of international concern (USPPI) ]
" There is human-to-human transmission of the virus and, according to preliminary estimates, the basic reproduction rate (RO) is between 1.4 and 2.5. Transmission has increased in a health facility. Of the confirmed cases, 25% are reported to be severe. The source remains unknown (probably an animal reservoir) and the extent of human-to-human transmission is still unclear.
Several members of the Committee considered that it is still too early to declare a USPPI, given its restrictive and binary nature.
